Last night we sat down and had a first taste of the upcoming Dubbel. We were very excited at our first attempt of this beer and can’t wait until it’s mature in two weeks. The colour is right on target with a deep brown-red. At once, this beer greeted us with a sweet caramel aroma, mind you the entire place smelled of caramel at the time as we are working on a second batch, which may have influenced our perception. We found a very pronounced fruitiness to this beer, well balanced with maltiness and a sour edge. The dubbel will be available on tap and by the bottle in mid November.
We are now officially out of the Damme strong. Before you get too upset though, we are working on an even tastier alternative we think you will like, namely a Tripel. Keep posted for a release date.
